8-OCT-2010 -- ST LOUIS - Attendees at the kick off event for the inaugural 2010 Pedal the Cause cycling event in St Louis. The event drew 700 riders and raised in excess a reported $1 million in donations to fund cancer research.
Pedal the Cause is an annual cycling event that seeks to provide and direct net funding for cancer research, cancer discovery grants and clinical translational care on best ideas not currently eligible for federal funds. With 100% of donations remaining in St. Louis, the event was started by Bill Koman, a St Louis business man and himself a cancer survivor.
